Allison,
touring in Europe means much shorter distances than touring in the US,
but as far as I am concerned the Savage seems to be kinda reliable for long trips.
I did 650 kilometres in one day last summer and didn´t have any problems (except for my butt
aching terribly at by the end of the day as I have no gel seat). It was a hot summer day and I
was going about 130 - 140 kph all the time on the german autobahn.
You might consider installing an oil-temperature gauge if you`re afraid the engine is getting
too hot.
